Help with UE - UNEVENMT

Posted: Nov 9th, 2017 - 5:59 pm

Does anyone have a similar situation:  I am on partial UE from a hospital job, but I do work on the side at home doing Medical Transcription.  Only thing is, if I work 4 days a week, I will not get benefits for that week (which if I work 3 days is only 1 day so not anything really to speak of, just do not want to let go of it yet) BUT the job in MT pays less than minimum wage.

This company could say there is work, but it is absolutely NOT work that I can make a living wage from.  I am holding onto it until I find something else.

Guess my question is, if I list 4 days of work but am working only a half a day each day and absolutely am not making minimum wage or the 425 dollars a week which would disqualify UE, do I still qualify for UE?  I just want to be smart here - even 30 dollars a week of UE is helping because I can count on it, unlike a job where I am only making production pay, which is pitiful.

I hate to give up either right now until I get another job -

If anything, would I just have to pay back the 30 dollars a week for the few weeks before I get another job?  If I give up UE for working 4 days a week but making only 150 dollars every 2 weeks, I would not be able to live anyway.  This is the truth, too.  I am hanging on by a thread until I get another job.

It is a predicament and I am not sure if I explained it correctly.  I HATE THIS.  I just want a living wage job...cant retire just yet.

For the record, I am applying to everything and anything where I have skills, not MT or just healthcare.  There just isnt anything, especially at my age.

Signed,

Unhappy
