with a job a couple times over the years, but pride in my work, a sense of what I owe myself, and in this case definitely the patients, mostly helped keep me focused on doing the work itself well and feeling good about that.
And when the time comes I absolutely want to go out in your style. There'll also be a lot of years to remember those last weeks of my work life, and I don't want anything creeping up in the middle of the night to bother me. :)
