Talk to another lawyer. I did file bankruptcy in 2015. It cost $1500. I had to borrow the money to do it, but overall one of the best decisions I ever made. I am not young, almost 60, and just got a job with my county's sheriff department as a 911 dispatcher. Our skills transfer well to this if you can take the stress. Very exciting, never boring AND I am needed! The 'work' never runs out. I started at 14.50 an hour, have 10 sick days, 12 holidays (unless I choose to work with overtime) and vacation, plus a pension! Check into it. It may suit you.
