My aunt who is in her late 50s just completed a phlebotomy course and already has a job. Have you looked into CMA programs? That would give you more training and options than phlebotomy alone and you could do a phlebotomy certificate too. I had checked into associate degree medical assistant programs and was told I could test out of some of the classes, like med terminology, etc.
