So, found out how to fix this. In Emdat Lite, you go into "File," down to "Options," then "Playback." Make sure to uncheck all the boxes under the ShadowScribe Playback section. This should fix the issue. BTW, you can change the color of the highlight speech puts around the words to make them easier to read if you'd like in this section, too.
