I work on Escription and I still use my mouse a lot. I rarely use the alt + K shortcut - that's usually only when I've gotten far away from where I need to be.

I use the regular editing shortcuts to delete words, highlight blocks of text to delete, etc. I remapped my keyboard to change the Shift + F3 to change the case to shift + F9 so I don't have to move my hand as much. I did the same thing with the "undo" command of alt + Z and moved that to alt + / again so I didn't have to move my hand as much.

They push the shortcuts and if those work best for you, go for it, but if you find yourself more comfortable or with more muscle memory using a mouse, then use that. I work on a closed system with a small provider pool and when things are moving well I can do 400 lph. Your mileage will vary.
