IS TTS a Nuance Vendor/subcontractor?? - MT

Posted: Apr 27th, 2017 - 9:03 am In Reply to: Thinking of applying to TTS - JP

I think TTS gets much or most of its work from Nuance. Is this not true? This is what I thought to be true and the main reason why I didn't consider applying to TTS.

However, the fact that TTS does not impose penalties for sending blanks to QA is a certainly a hugely positive factor as compared to working with Nuance or any other company that imposes penalties for QA submission.

I used to work at Synernet where there was an 8% QA submission maximum, but I never figured out exactly what the penalty would be. I did go over that limit once, in a week in which there was a new account with an abundance of difficult reports, at which time I received a very snippy email from QA. My response to that, of course, was that my rate of QA submission is directly related to the percentage of indecipherable reports I have to transcribe. Apparently, the QA dept was unaware of this phenomenon. I still don't understand this type of ignorance and abuse (IMHO) of MTs.
