Give them the LEGAL time limit - to get it to you

Posted: Jan 29th, 2017 - 5:06 pm In Reply to: Haven't gotten my W2 yet... - annoyed

You posted this January 28th. Doesn't the law say that the W2 and 1099 forms have to be postmarked by January 31st and you could receive it after that? If so, don't you think you are "huffing and puffing" a bit prematurely. I got my Keystrokes W2 early (considering they pay late sometimes), so there is a little humor. I don't work there anymore, just for clarity. Why are you mad that you didn't get it early...they have done NOTHING WRONG in this situation. Try not to be upset BEFORE there is trouble because that trouble is coming from you. You don't need the added stress. We all are stressing ourselves too much now. I have my tax papers early and I think I will get an earned income refund, but those won't go out until (I think) February 11th because they are screening them better this year. Maybe you are stressing because you will get a few hundred dollars in refunds and you desperately need it to pay bills...me too, but I am not going to blame a company that does not deserve it for that particular reason. I get anxiety at this time of year when I have to wait for the forms, get online and try to do my taxes. I got left out of medical coverage for 2 months last year through no fault of my own. One company said I no longer qualified and the other would not pick up for 2 months. So, I have to pay the STUPID PENALTY FOR NO INSURANCE that is mandatory and THAT MAKES ME MAD. So, this is a legitimate reason to scream and it hurts me, oh boo hoo, but it does. So, count your blessings by comparison. It sounds like maybe you have stress and a bit of anxiety too and I do sympathize. Just relax and try to enjoy "something good in life." When I had a panic attack all day flying from the West coast to the East coast on 2 planes a couple of years ago, I kept telling myself to relax and don't you just want to figuratively punch someone when they say that, but you know they are trying to help. Can you imagine how I felt when I was the one telling myself to relax and I wanted to punch myself at the same time? Tragic, but funny. Did I get your mind off the subject a little? Have a good one!
