s/l glucide blood test - gloryah

Posted: Feb 28, 2012

hello, please help me out here if you can!

i have a client who uses english as a second language, therefore making this difficult to understand.  while screening for hepatitis, he appears to say, "glucide blood test."

is it possible this would be "glucose/blood test" ?

thnx!

what kind of sound is it? - need to know

Is it "glu ssside" or "glueck ide"?

"glueck ide" - gloryah

"glueck ide" :)

dont want to stick my neck out - hmmm

because there is a lot of information the rest of the report can offer, BUT, there are studies that link a higher percentage of diabetics with hepatitis, so testing for diabetes could be part of a workup. Having said that, the hard sound K and the soft sound S are not usually mixed up even by ESLs. Based on your question alone, I would not tell you to put in "glucose." It would have to be your call.
dictation also mentions diabetes mellitus - gloryah

dictation also mentions diabetes mellitus, if that's any help?
messed my answer all up - hmmm

sigh, long day. Anyway, you say the dictation also mentions diabetes mellitus, so glucose is probably your answer.
much appreciated! - gloryah
