rheumatology lab that kind of s/l vitamin D? - sj

Posted: Oct 08, 2010

Does anyone know of a rheumatology lab that kind of s/l vitamin D?  She is listing all of the rheumatology labs that she is going to be drawing, CBC, CMP, ESR, CRP, ANA direct, SSA/SSB, RF, anti-CCP, ACE, Lyme, TSH, muscle enzymes, s/l vitamin D.  I couldn't find anything online b/c she could be saying just about anything...she is saying the word while exhaling into the mic.

vitamin D - cll

[ In Reply To ..]
They now do vitamin D levels for blood work. Low vitamin D levels cause a whole bunch of symptoms that could be part of a rheumatology work up. I have had my levels done and they were very low, almost nonexistant, so that could definitely be what she is saying.

Check Rheumatology Labs, Including Rheumatoid Factor, Anti-CCP
Sep 08, 2010

This patient could possibly have gout, fibromyalgia, OA, RA, psoriasis...among other possibilities.  "Check rheumatology labs, including rheumatoid factor, anti-CCP, ANA, sed rate, CRP, CMP, CBC, Lyme.  The patient had a s/l 'dipsticks all the time.'  Check an ACE."  The doctor did pause after "had a" so that may not be part of the sentence.  In that case, it sounds kind of like, "The patient gets sticks all the time."  I'm not sure if either makes sense.  She does mention ...

Does anyone know of a good online reference for vitamin and supplement names, preferably something that allows for a "sounds like"?  I am struggling with this one - it sounds like "ketcava" and I'm thinking it might be something used for insomnia since it's listed in between 2 other supplements used for insomnia.  If anyone knows the name of this one or can point me in the direction of where to find it, I would greatly appreciate it!  Thanks in advance! ...

How To Accurately Transcribe Vitamin D3 5000 Units Daily?
Nov 23, 2011

Question...I've been looking all over trying to figure out the best way to transcribe number/number combinations with medications on a list of meds where using parentheses doesn't seem to be right.  For example: Vitamin D3 5000 units daily, vitamin B12 500 mg daily, etc.  Is there a way to transcribe this where it doesn't look so number-heavy and the dosage is clearly separate from the vitamin? TIA! ...

"citrullinated Cross-linked Peptides"? Rheumatology Labs
May 20, 2011

Doc is referring patient for labs to rule out rheumatoid arthritis.  He's listed these a million times and always says "CCP level."  This time he said "citrullinated cross-linked peptides."  I'm thinking he just doesn't know what CCP stands for, as I can only find "cyclic citrullinated peptide".  He's not a rheumatologist, but then again, neither am I.  Can someone with rheumatology experience weigh in? ...
