cholesterol level 211, triglycerides 158, (S/L)A-stil 25 and L-dil of 152.... Thanks for any help

that is not a post-cath/stent term. It is a labwork term. Try researching cholesterol and triglycerides.

ALT/AST - maybe?

Not ALT/AST - sm

I think the first response was from an MT who was being nice and directing the OP (? student) to research cholesterol levels to find the answer. :)

: ) you're right - nm

Cholesterol labs...sm - Anon

A-stil is probably HDL and L-dil is probably LDL. Total cholesterol is 211, HDL is 25, LDL is 152, and triglycerides are 158. Bye the way, those are lousy values. No wonder the patient needed a cardiac catheterization.

yes, we know that - sm

The fact that HDL and LDL did not pop out for the OP suggests she might be a student rather than an MT. It's a word board, not a homework board. She can't learn MT by rote.

New To Cardiac Cath
Nov 01, 2009

I am new MT (sort of).  I am doing a cardiac cath from an ESL with marbles in his mouth.  This is a false positive stress test, and I am going nuts with one phrase.  It is: "The left anterior descending artery was large, 5 mm in diameter.  (s/l tran sif ico) was mildly tortuous but no focal lesions."  I googled the phrase and found it, and was led to this site, but it is not here.   Anybody have a clue on the (s/l trans sif ico)? ...
