Range of motion help - jc

Posted: Apr 15, 2012

I have a doctor who says "Hip adduction, abduction normal (s/l template)."  Does that make any sense?  Any ideas?

Does dictator have a normal/standard/template that needs to be inserted? - nm

For normal exams they often use templates of standard text that can be inserted into the transcription so they don't have to dictate it. I'm not sure what platform you are using or how where you would find this. You might just put a note on it saying (template) and refer it to QA who can tell you where to find these templates.

Are you using the Emdat program by chance ??

No, not using Edmat... - jc

but all before he dictates "template" dictates a whole paragraph of all other ranges of motion, and usually he will say "within normal limits" if nothing is unusual. I will ask QA.

Thank you for your responses.
