Modified maze procedure, is maze capitalized or not - I am so confused

I have a really old cardiovascular/pulmonary book and it shows maze is not capitalized. I'm new to VR and it is always capitalizing maze, so who is right? Modified maze procedure or modified Maze procedure...I'm betting on the book. TIA

In my Steadman's dictionary, maze is defined as a "labyrinth."

A regular dictionary defines it as "a network of paths and hedges designed as a puzzle through which one has to find a way."

The Society of Thoracic Surgeons posts an illustration and states "The surgical procedure looks schematically like a children's maze with only one path from the SA node to the AV node."

So the word is not an eponym nor an abbreviation. It is just what it sounds like, just a maze.

Do you know if it's CryoMaze or Cryomaze or Cryo-Maze or ?? TYIA.

A Medtronic procedure/product line - research

Medtronic bought ATS CRYOMAZE (it was trademarked in all caps). In the product brochure from Medtronics, they list CryoMaze, as well as Maze II and III procedures.

If you are transcribing a report based on the Medtronic product (Maze II or Maze III), then you would do an initial cap. I didn't see where Medtronic changed the trademark, so if one defers to BOS III recommendations, it would be acceptable to transcribe as Cryomaze or CryoMaze depending on client preference.

maze procedure (Cardio)-- used for ablation of refractory atrial fibrillation. Open heart surgery is used to create a complex maze of incisions in the atrial myocardium...the procedure is done to restore sinus rhythm.

Years back, the name of the service was to be capitalized if they said the patient was seen by Podiatry or the patient was seen by Neurology. But if the patient was seen by the neurology service, it was not capitalized. Why am I being counted off for not capitalizing Neurology Service? It just looks stupid with it capitalized.
