did you put neuroforaminal narrowing in a google search?

I did but I was hesitant as my Stedman's Ortho does not have it listed. Thanks! - akhan

Neural foraminal - I just learned something here...sm - elaine

I was so surprised your Stedman's didn't have this word that I looked it up in my Dorland's. It's not there, either.

I have worked in neurosurgery and have always used "neuroforaminal", which is not unaccepted (which is why you can get google hits for it). However

You get a lot more hits for "neural foraminal", actually. Particularly if placed in context, and in quotes, ie:
"neural foraminal stenosis".

I used to make it 1 word all the time until I worked for - an orthopedic clinic (NM)

neural foraminal narrowing...sm - flybye

also,
neural foramen
neural spine
neural arc
neural arch
neural lamina
neural crest
neural canal
etc.
you'll hear them "combine" these term into /neuroforamen/ /neuroforaminal/ but it's incorrect because the neural foramen is anatomical and not a combined term meaning "nerve-foramen"

i tried to post a pic....

and you will find neuroforamen and neuroforaminal on Google; doesn't mean they're correct =)

good question! let's see if i get flamed... =)

reposting image...this is a test... =) - flybye

here's an image of the neural foramina where "neural foraminal narrowing" would occur...

ok mtstars...what am i doing wrong? sm - flybye

i can't seem to post an image with my reply even using "rich text editor with full options"...is this feature active?

"a picture is worth 1000 words..."

(but you can't dictate a picture) =)

thanks!

Neuroforaminal Vs. Neural Foraminal
Aug 12, 2011

I have been a neurologist for the past 12 years and work both at the VA in the Comp and Pen Division as well as doing State examinations and the term neural vs. neuro- foramina and its variants is a constant point of contention among colleagues.  I've read through the posts and have spent a good deal of time perusing various online resources on this fascinating question.  My conclusion (as someone in an earlier post already figured out) is that NEUROFORAMINA as 1 word is consider ...

I have been on QA for at least 2 months.  The first month my TL went on vacation and when she did, I was still on full QA and all reports monitored.  I have not received any QA good or bad during this time, but when I inquired about it yesterday, I was told of at least 9 things that I keep doing wrong, and I am not good enough to let out into the work pool.  I asked for reports that I messed up and they only came up with one report that was not messed up,but a report in which I left blanks, w ...
