Contracture deformities - Sheri

Posted: Aug 09, 2010

I'm not sure what movement of the joints is being described here..."Contracture deformities with (s/l contraction) of the PIPs and hyperextension of the DIPs."  I didn't think "contraction" was a type of movement doctors used to test patients' joints.

contraction - sounds right

I think in this context, "contraction" refers to the shrinkage or shortening of a muscle, rathern than a movement or maneuver.

its contracture deformity - oh my goodness

Help With Dupuytren's Contracture Sm
Aug 08, 2013

The ring finger has a small Dupuytren’s contracture.  I carefully dissected the skin away from that and removed the Dupuytren’s contracture s/l "as-----tal" procedure in order to visualize the flexor tendon of the long finger.   Sorry, I hear as in the beginning and "tal" or just "al" at the end.  Not even sure if as goes with the word or not.  Thanks!  ...
