Started new VR job today on escription & ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT - blown away! (sm)

I am so excited! I started a new job today and I absolutely love my account and editing VR on this platform. I made pretty good lines in just a couple hours using none of the VR key combinations because I haven't started utilizing them yet (figure it will take time to learn them) but I don't think avg. 300 lph is too bad on first day huh? I was worried and now I can't imagine going back to transcribing, seriously. I hope tomorrow and each day after is as good or even better than today :) Ahh...sigh of relief to have found this job.

I am not on the Escription account. My primary and secondary are like your previous experience with VR and I just cannot get good speed due to the many, many fixing of errors. Mine are not on Escription. I am happy when I run out of work and can jump to my backup on the Escription account. Double the difference. They should split everyone up some to spread out the accounts that are on the not so friendly VR program.

What expander are you using with Escription? - slowmt

I just started working on Esription last week. Which text expander are you using with Escription? I have been flipping back and forth between Instant Text and Shorthand. I cannot decide which one works better with Escription. I need some good dictionaries and glossaries though to build my speed.

I have no idea, I'm not using one yet (sm) - blown away!

it was my first day.... But I too want to know which one is compatible so that I can utilize it to record those key combinations and simplify the editing keystrokes. I don't know if it depends on the version of Escription either so if you get info. please share.

In my experience, these reports were so good that they didn't require much correction so that control arrowing through the report as the voice cursor moved was good enough for me. I have literally no experience doing this - I did it a few times at my request at one company to try it and it was so bad I was glad to get back to transcribing but those reports required massive correction -it was a different platform, so I was scared to even try it again and this was just wonderful. Since it was my first day, I wonder if I just got handpicked good drafts? I hope all the reports are this good because I actually enjoyed editing for the first time. When the reports are bad & require every other word changed that is what makes it easier to type the whole thing rather than edit it in my extremely brief experience so far - so the key may be getting a good account with good drafts or something much more than developing faster correction skills though of course that would also help. Just my opinion and like I said I'm completely new to all of this. Re-post if you get the answer to the expander question - I'm really lost when it comes to that so far myself.

I absolutely Refuse to do any more VR for less than what straight typing pays. Find another Sucker to fix your jacked up reports. This is not worth my time, I am an Educated Professional. After 21 years of doing transcription, yes starting with a typewriter, I have no will left to do this job. After searching other companies, it seems the industry is in the toilet. We are at the mercy of companies like Nuance because in-house transcription is a thing of the past. I woke up this morning and realized in the last 16 years I have come full circle, 7 cpl when starting at home, and now most likely back to 7 cpl with this new grid. I was transferred only about about a month ago (stolen according to my last TSM). This is a new account. Every single week it is something. A new ESL dictating a DS. Can't speed him up because he's too "new" (to this country?). He is spelling every other word!!!!!! AND then spells it again - extubated, e-x-t-u-b-a-t-e-d, extubated e for elephant, x for crosses, t for tom, u for umbrella, b for .......... get the picture (sigh)?
