Shorthand for Windows not working in Open Office or Wordpad

Hi, I am a happy PC shorthand customer but now will need an expander that works in WordPad/Notepad or Open Office since I can't afford the Microsoft products. I tried FastFox but it won't import my Shorthand. I need a new expander that will import or else that has importable files. Any ideas? I have been having something unusual happen with my Shorthand expander. I think I messed it up when I was doing some changing and ever since then I have not been able to expand an abbreviation when I am in the actual SH screen. I used to just hit enter and it would populate my document, but now it doesn't do anything at all at that point. Howdy from Texas......I recently purchased a terrific and powerful Windows 7 Dell PC on clearance at a great price......and have been spending a lot of time getting it up and running...... My latest and hopefully last glitch is that I cant get shorthand to work with Bayscribe on this Windows 7 machine while using Internet Explorer 11. You all have it reversed for VR. Those of us that do the VR editing should be paid the hourly wage, not the QA people!
