Help Please!!!Changing comma to period, capping next word....in Word - PandaBear

Is there a way in AutoCorrect (Word 2010) to change a comma to a period and then cap the next word to make VR go a little faster? The platform at my old company did this automatically, but MS Word does not : (

This is so frustrating having to change from a comma to a period (or vice versa)--which as you all know happens constantly...and then change the next word to be capitalized (or uncapped)....my wrists are killing me, not to mention it takes so much TIME.....

There HAS to be a better way! I don't think it's possible using AutoCorrect. I tried messing with the macro function, but it never worked for me...probably doing it wrong...but I tried different ways. Can someone help me ?

Create a macro, but you need to be out of the software first - it will not work while in the software usually

I set up samples in a word document, so I would have lots of things like

this is, what must be done.

on 2 or 3 lines to create my macro with.

Then, go to your create macro function and I always assign it to a keyboard configuration, whichever one works best for your hands.

Do the exact steps you want the macro to do, then stop the macro running. You should be able to run it then with the keyboard command that you created.

What platform are you on?

Have you tried using Instant Text? There is a SRT glossary - available...sm

There is already an entry in the glossary that will insert a period and capitalize the next word. You can always add a command to the beginning of that entry to first delete a comma. Just email support, they will help you.

Also...and this is BIG!! You can import all of your AutoCorrect entries into IT so you don't have to lose what you have already created! =)

I don't know if anyone has struggled with this and can help me. My eyes are getting worse and worse and I need to increase my font for work.
