This opportunity is for GENERAL/LEGAL TRANSCRIPTION; it is NOT medical transcription. Our typists transcribe letters and reports for attorneys and companies associated with California Workers' Compensation (CA WC) on a daily basis. Weekday, weeknight and weekend work is available.

Transcription experience is required. Medical transcription experience is helpful. Legal, especially CA WC, experience is desired, but not essential. However, TASK cannot consider applications from anyone currently working in any capacity for a CA WC firm or other TASK client. Our typists work from home as independent contractors for TASK, a company that has been providing word processing services to law firms, doctors, etc., since 1988. TASK has an established, strong reputation for high quality and excellent customer service. We seek contractors who strive for the same in all they do. We need typists who understand the rigors of production typing. We seek a minimum level of commitment from our contractors to transcribe an average of 800 lines of dictation per day, 5 days per week. Please note, this means accurately transcribing about 60 minutes of dictation. This does not equal a typing time of 60 minutes, as that will vary with an individual's speed, experience and accuracy.

Being a contractor with TASK requires commitment. This is not appropriate for typists seeking to earn a little extra money on the side or as a second job after a day at a full-time job. Because of our commitment to quality and providing you with orientation and feedback to meet that expectation, we need you to view TASK as a priority client.

Required: Microsoft Word 2000 (or better) or Word Perfect 12 (depending upon the client); Internet Explorer; VEC Infinity foot pedal (other brands with a USB port may be compatible with our software, and you may complete our audition without purchasing a foot pedal); high speed internet (cable or DSL; a dial-up connection is not an option).
