We currently have two available fulltime Medical Transcription Editor positions. Telecommute from home or work from our Cambridge office.
Responsibilities:
„X Transcribe dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals about patient assessment, workup, therapeutic procedures, clinical courses, prognosis and other medical processes.
„X Edit dictated material for grammar and clarity.
„X Transcribe from voice recordings using the MedTran software.
„X Sustain up to date familiarity and understanding of medical terminology pertaining to specific or all fields of medicine.
„X Maintain knowledge of correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling to be able to edit the dictated material so that it is consistent and understandable without changing the meaning.
„X Maintain a working knowledge of medical reference materials to aid in the completion of the typed reports.
„X Be able to listen to the dictated information and interpret and transcribe well-organized medical reports on patient care and treatment
„X Maintain knowledge and understanding of the Nightingale Hospital Specific and Standard Guidelines.
„X Maintain complete understanding of the MedTran software and all of its functions.
„X Ability to be trained as a Training Editor who is able to:
„X Fill in missing dictation, correct errors and complete all reports in check from training MTs while ensuring TAT is maintained.
„X Communicate constructively with MTs in training regarding corrections in check comments
„X Respond to request and inquiries from training MTs regarding MedTran and guidelines

Qualifications:
„X Medical transcription training from an accredited school is essential. The designation of Certified Medical Transcriptionist is an asset.
„X Moderate level computer skills are required.
„X Personal requirements include alertness and the ability to concentrate on details. The work requires normal or corrected hearing and good manual dexterity.
„X 2+ years of medical transcription a minimum
