For people who switched from the Webmdex platform and are now with Nuance, how many LPH for VR are you producing?

I am very experienced and 200 LPH is the absolute tops I can do. We are getting emails that the highest VR produced right now is 380 LPH. I can't go any faster because I can't make the voice go fast enough. On a day when I have great dictators, with little editing, a straight hour of VR, I have tested myself and around 200 LMH is as fast as I could possibly go. I am scratching my head on this one. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

No we are being offfered a production seminar by ADHI. Is there a rat in the woodpile somewhere?

I didn't come from Webmdex, but have worked for Nuance about a year now.

Max VR lines I have ever gotten was 400, however, that is rare. I average about 250.

I just started with a company doing VR, so does that mean I can only expect to average $10 an hour, based on 4 cpl? ugh what did I do...

Actually, most of us seem to average $8-9 hour. I have been doing this for 15+ years and have made $12/hr on only 1 pay period this last year. In fact, there have been 2 pay periods where they had to make up my wages to get me over minimum wage law in my state.

I made a couple of decent paychecks when I first started with Nuance. Same old story. I barely make minimum wage now and work way harder, looking up names and confirming date of service, etc. Used to make 22+/hour only 5 years ago. What happened? It's not me. Yes, there is a snake in the woodpile for sure.

Call me paranoid, but I am wondering if this means they will be lowering our pay rate again soon. If our LPH as a group hovers at the lower end, then it would put us below minimum wage if they lowered us again. I have not received any emails about a production seminar yet. My average VR LPH hovers around 200 for the pay period, with huge changes from day-to-day, depending on work types, dictators, accounts I get that day. Anywhere from 160 to 370. The days where I am over 200 are those where we have a big backlog and I get a bunch of reports with normals in them. No, you really cannot speed up ASR enough.

I do wonder if it is a problem with Enterprise and the way it is tweaked. Maybe they don't have it optimized well to work with the new speech engine. JMO

If the software could be sped up, we could produce more for the company they might cut our pay again. Kind of like trying to dig out of a hole in sand.

For some reason I get about 1 normal a week so I am never over 200 LPH. I have asked and asked for normals but rarely get them. Thank you for your reply and info.

I don't understand. Account normals are in the platform, and if a physician requests that a normal be used, we insert into the body of the report. How can you "request" normals?

I don't get any reports that have normals to be inserted, maybe about 1 or 2 a week. I see the long list of normals stored and wonder why I hardly get any of those doctors.
This is on 2 different accounts.

Yes, most of the normals are never requested on my accounts. One account in particular has tons of normals, but most of them are radiology normals, not acute care. Most of the dictators that have normals have never requested them on any of their reports I transcribe. Go figure. It's the luck of the draw for us, I guess.

I can average 200 lph on straight typing, I thought I would be able to double on VR. Just took it to supplement, but I can see now this won't last long...

On my best reports I edit well over 400 LPH. That is typically with speed increased only to 150-170%.

Before anyone gets excited, I average much less, maybe 330ish, on all edited reports because my primary is a slower than average account with generally poor sound quality and lots of hard to understand dictators who were never trained to work with SR.

Yet with speed at max, whatever % that is, I'm never there, you can only edit 200 LPH at fastest? That math doesn't make sense against my experience.

I will ask our tech people about this then. It doesn't make sense to me either. I am on the Enterprise software, not Escription. What are you on?

I am baffled how anyone could work at 150-170% audio speed and not miss things. Maybe I'm just slow, but I think if I did anything over 120%, I'd get a phone call.

This has me wondering--what speed do all of you generally use on relatively clear dictations? I start mine at 105%, and then adjust up or down from there.

corrections. Other editors may go even faster on those, but I can't edit fast enough to keep up if I listen faster. I can read faster, however, and if I am quite familiar with a dictator I'm often scanning ahead to find and correct mistakes while listening to the dictation.

By far most of my dictators I can't do that on, though. I have so many baddies that I start many at real-time speed and crank up as allowed.

by using keyboard command it increases just a little bit. So you all must be using EScription.

each time you hit the keyboard command it speeds up a bit more.

On average I can only hit the speed up key 2 notches before voice is distorted on Enterprise - anon

According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

Does anyone know why the ad says "No inquiries from overseas" when they obviously offshore the work? Anyone reading that would incorrectly assume they do not offshore. If Webmedx does away with or changes their recently advertised "PRODUCTION BASED INCENTIVE" bonus and adopts the Nuance quality based bonus then this change may be considered by quite a few WMX employees as yet another cut in pay. Is this true? Because if so that means they dont take into consideration years of experience, opportunity for increase or nothing. Seems kind of hard to work for an obviously big and successful company that is only willing to pay their employees 0.41 cpl and thats it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I received an incentive bonus this paycheck (for the first time ever). My QA score was 99.3%. So, I get an email today from my supervisor that my latest audit was only 98.2% and they are going to reaudit me in 2 weeks to see if my score is improving or if I need further disciplinary action. In house just got outsourced to Nuance. In our meeting, they said the PTO is 10 days total, which you have to use for holidays and sick time as well. So, if you take all 6 holidays (if that is even possible), you get 4 days off a year? Not even a week for vacation left over. I AM SO LIVID! These QCs are unbelievable! I used "and" instead of "the" and the QC marks me off for English misspelling/typo which is a 0.5 error instead of an English word misuse which is less at 0.25. There is someone who claims to be a QC for Nuance and that they are only paid minimum wage for this position. That is utter nonsense. Why would any experienced MLS take a minimum wage job in the MT industry when you could make more than that on production easily.
