mmodal bankruptcy notice in mail - msdaisy

Just got this in the mail today. Wondering why? as I quit almost a year ago, got my last check and pto pay without any problems. any ideas?

My sister and I both got them and both former employees, me last year and sis before that. We thought it might have something to do with unemployment issues but she is no longer under UE through MModal. I am but I ran out of weeks over a month ago. Maybe covering themselves from future claims like lawsuits for wrongful termination or if a former employee figures out that there was something missed. They are probably just covering their behinds like all bankruptcy lawyers encourage all their clients to do when filing. I wonder if any current employees got this notice.

Legally you have to be informed so you have an opportunity to make a claim for money owed to you and get in line with all the other creditors.

Deja vu. Worked for Spheris who filed bankruptcy and M-Modal bought them. Wonder who will pick this one up. Can't say I feel bad for them. Hate to be so negative but I feel they deserve it for being so greedy.

And I left in October after 7 years. Why are they sending these out? Did they stop paying payroll or something? Sad. Glad I got out when I did.

I also just received the notice of the MModal bankruptcy. What I'm worried about are the words, "A discharge means that you are barred from attempting to collect your debt from the Debtors..." Does that mean they won't have to pay us what we worked for once the bankruptcy goes through? ...

I am working 2 jobs right now. I am making a lot more with my second job and would like to just be able to concentrate on that one but the problem is that it is an IC position. My new job has advised me that they will always have plenty of work to keep me busy and we are actually about 4 days behind on dictation so I'm not worried about that. A lot of the e-mails I get show up in one long line that stretches far to the right-hand side of my computer screen. I used to be able to drag a bar across the bottom to see the whole thing, but now I can't, so I only get to read a short portion of the message. (The bar is there, but the colored part of the bar stretches across my whole screen, so I can't actually move it.) Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know what I can do about it? ...

I cant get signed on yet again..normally takes a while for it to load normally..Then I go to the windows mail (which wont let me send a message) and that gives some kind of message about mail not loading..you would think a HUGE company had a better email system..really not a very hard thing to set up... ...

Not to stomp on someone when they are down....but WOW! You mean with all the outsourcing and cutting pay, you STILL cannot pay your bills M-Modal??? I was really surprised to see this in the mail today. Almost threw it away when I saw it because it looked like junk mail. Glad I didn't. Unbelievable. Does anyone know why I am receiving notifications of this process when I no longer work for the company? Are past employees filing claims against the company? If so, for what exactly? It appears to be a reorganization of the company and not a dissolution, which is good for those still there. Just curious about what's going on. Thanks! ...

It's been my experience that when there's a deluge of work all at once to be finished up, it's because the hospital/company is about to switch gears, with the MT suffering the most. I'm not financial savvy, but I wonder if this latest MOT stuff is related to the recent bankruptcy, that possibly the reserve money to pay the MTs is running out, so the company is about to go under or sell out. Something's up for sure. ...

Got mail entitled "IMPORTANT LEGAL DOCUMENTS ENCLOSED", and its the legal filings and info on the Chapter 11, as if we, the employees, are creditors???
