My Split Jobs Have Never - Sarah

I have never had a split job bring in the ADT info. I always write down the name and one of the #'s so I can be sure to match it.

Split Jobs (from Below)
Nov 19, 2010

I had to listen to the new Split job instructions again because it had been so long since the tutorial and I had forgotten.  I didn't say it was "hard," but it had changed, and I had to refresh.  I don't throw jobs back, so had to go to MQ Central and find the tutorial again and listen about the "import" function and how to do it since you don't highlight and hide the text anymore.  It did take probably 15 minutes to find it and listen through the whole thing becaus ...

Split Jobs
Dec 05, 2012

Hi folks, I think I'm losing my mind.  I just did a split job, which I did...split it I mean, and it went over with words typed.  When I checked to make sure all was okay, no words on the paper.  But, the next report I did of the split was correct.  What am I doing wrong? Thanks.  ...

I Need Help With Stupid Split Jobs. When Did It Change From Old Way? Sm
Apr 21, 2011

I can't believe I have not had a split job since new changes to DQS, but today I have a split job.  I did what I thought was the correct way and had cursor where it should be.  Asked for split, then yes, and oh my heavens.  I cannot get anything of the other original to pull up and NO ADT info will even load.  Sorry I had to break this, and I have sent a message to my QA Sup to help this very old dog.   Does anyone else get totally confused on how they changed ...

Filling In Demographics And All The
Oct 03, 2012

Exactly - Agreed Posted: Oct 2nd, 2012 - 10:39 pm In Reply to: FYI - Anonymousno one inhouse or outhouse pays for filling in demographics and it is quite plainly wrong when paid on a production basis - at least in America. We are not indentured servants but are heading there - if not already there - by working without being paid for all characters transcribed including demographics. The MTSOs just don't want to expend the money or effort to adjust the technology to count everything they ha ...

How Much Time Do You Spend On Demographics?
Apr 30, 2014

I have an account where the doctors never enter demographics. I'm spending 5 minutes on each report filling in demographics and cc's from doctors who only slur a last name.  Many partial doctor names need to be Googled.  If I do about 36 reports a day at 5 minutes each with demographic research then I'm spending 3 hours of my shift working for nothing!   How is it for the rest of you? ...

Bringing This To The Top. This Is The Letter I Have
Apr 14, 2012

so far.  It is a long one so please bear with me US DEPT OF LABOR RE MT To Whom It May Concern; I have been a medical transcriptionist for 16 years.  I have been working at home 14 of those 16 years.  When I started out working at home, I was offered 7-1/2 cpl.  I am now consistently offered 6-7 cpl for straight transcription and 3-4 cpl for editing.  I am lucky to make $20 a day.  That includes running out of work, the ridiculously low pay and the tons of accoun ...

Bringing Antitrust To The Top
Nov 23, 2012

Someone asked to explain what antitrust means.  Antitrust laws were put in place by the US government and are intended to prevent companies from controlling prices and reducing competition (i.e. monopoly).  Nuance is under investigation for violation of these laws.  Yes, as someone said, it will be tied up in the courts for a long time, but it doesn't mean nothing, contrary to what the poster said.  It means that there is enough evidence against Nuance to warrant in ...

Sloooowww MQ Mail, SLOOOWW Demographics.
Feb 25, 2010

It must be just me.  My CTL just informed me that she wasn't aware that our e-mail was so slow.  It takes me almost 10 minutes just to read my first e-mail of the day.  She wants us to check our e-mail three times daily.  That would be 30 minutes of my own "free time."  Personally, I prefer not to waste my transcription time as it counts against me when I do in my average hourly PTO which is fast dwindling to minimum wage (used to be $18/h).  Now I read on this ...

Bringing this to the top because it has gotten a ways down now...but could we please have a board for Happy MT's where we can go and talk with our "coworkers" without being abused?  Even in the thread below requesting this, we have been told we are being insensitive for talking about being successful.  This is getting quite ridiculous and disgusting.  Can we please, please, please have "somewhere to go" to have a real discussion without name calling and abusiveness?  The ...

Spending More Time Fixing Demographics Than Transcribing
Jul 14, 2010

I signed up for college this fall to get a HIT degree and hopefully get out of transcription. Seems I spend so much time looking up incorrect demographics, patient account numbers, etc., due to dictors entering the wrong information, and with the company I work for, it counts against us, YET we dont get paid to lookup demographics and fix errors, but its our responsbility. I am finding this so frustrating and spending 9 hours a day to make barely 90 bucks. ...

Bringing The Qualified Text (QT) Subject Over Here.
Jan 14, 2012

I am under the impression that QT is canned text that we bring into the report and add text at certain spots when the dictator specifies? I used to do a lot of ophthalmology reports. Surgeon would say: Please insert my normal phacoemulsification with IOL implant. Then they would dictate which eye, how many diopters, model and size of lens, etc. Does QT also sometimes just show up on the report that comes up and then we just add what is dictated? How long does it take to bring in the QT? Than ...

Bringing Work Back To America
Mar 05, 2012

Not long ago I was watching a news story about several manufacturing companies that had found, after shipping work overseas and seeing quality drop precipitously, a way to bring the work back to U.S. soil that actually LOWERED their overhead, INCREASED quality, and RAISED their profits. One company in particular made some sort of an appliance that was assembled with quite a few screws that are put in by hand.  They shipped the work to China, and quality suffered.  They also had to hire a lo ...
