Lost work due to more being sent overseas - anyone experience this lately?

Its like my group/team has almost ceased to exist. There is only work in the late afternoon up through the evening and then poof, its gone. We were told that a lot of it went off-shore, but now struggling to learn new accounts and its taking a toll on production and I am having to send more to QA. Anyone else experiencing this?

This industry has taken such a nose dive between outsourcing and VR. After 20 years of being an MR, I'm ready to throw in the towel and get a "regular" job. It will be really hard to adjust to sitting in traffic and having to be out of the house by a certain time again, but in the long run it will be worth it since at least I'll have a pay check I can count on instead of hoping I make at least minimum wage each week. I just hope I can actually find a "regular" job in today's economy...

I am in the north region and the ccm told me that more work went overseas and that they are overstaffed for the work available. I bounce around all day and cannot keep my lines/paycheck up any longer. Filed for unemployment 4 weeks ago due to the lack of paycheck.

Why they dont lay some of us off or just fire us already. They are just waiting for us to quit.

accounts for some other region. Don't they realize that when new folks come on and try to do other accounts the new folks will be making minimum wage or even less? Not worth the aggravation.

and why not just move the new hires permanently - to the out of TAT work?

There are some regions with a large backlog on certain accounts, so why not put the new hires there, let them learn the account, and leave our work to us like it was before?

They laid off a bunch of people years ago, and I guess they realized it's cheaper to just have us quit. I was one of them who quit, then became a victim of an acquisition.

I think all their fancy numbers about production and all that are for proof that we're not fit for the job, so they can fight UE or serverance or whatever if they fire us for poor production.

This is the name of the game. But you learned old acct, a - good MT can learn new accts. nm

If you look at the time frame when we have work (afternoons/evenings), then even if they say it's not going overseas, it is. If India is 6-8 hours ahead of us, this makes sense. They're all eating their vindaloo then going to sleep.

My supervisor insists our accounts are not going overseas, but either she doesn't know they are, or they told her not to tell us.

MM has no problem just saying accts going OS. Heck, they had - no problem telling us we will never get SM

a pay increase, they sure arent gonna worry about telling us more accts are going OS. They dont have to trick us, they dont have to lie to us. They have no problem just straight out saying more work is foing OS. In fact, Amy said just that on the conference call. Nobody should be surprised.

I know my accounts are not going to India in the evening or any other time. There is just not much work coming in some evenings. If you look at the backlog, you would see the work whether it was going to India or not. It doesn't just disappear out of docqmanage and go to them. If you notice around 8:15 MT that the system slows way down, this is because India MT's have all arrived at work and are all signing in at the same time (this is what tech told me). However, that has nothing to do with the evening workload in my accounts. I am here every evening and can see what work is coming in and it is just really slow on my main accounts. Some of my backups have a little more. I don't share any of my main accounts with India, thank goodness.

My pay is continually going down, especially after the previous pay decrease, and now NJA. Am skeptical of the 8cpl they SAY for straight typing...and most MTSOs nowadays have very little stright typing. This MAY be a comeon for one thinking they can make up for the 3cpl. How can any company be compliant with HITECH/HIPPA when they send work overseas. Isn't that a HIPPA violation and should the patient be notified that their personal information, diagnoses, history, SS#, in some cases home address, DOB, etc, is sometimes mentioned in reports and overseas MTs have access to it? I've tried finding this info on my own but can't seem to locate it on any reputable/trusthworthy site. What percentage of the MT/MLS jobs is sent overseas? My company has begun, one by one, sending accounts overseas. We only have one account left being typed by those of us in the US, and I imagine that one is going over there soon. They lie to us about where the work is going or tell us that there's just not a lot coming in. But MT's can go into each job typed and also see the amount of work coming in.
