How can it be legal for CCM to add PTO on timecard - because there was no work?

I am scheduled for 35 hours a week.  If I only got 28 hours last week becuase of the holiday (no work) and the day after (no work), and not being able to make up all of that time, how is it legal that the CCM just takes my PTO and adds that to my timesheet to cover that 7 hours?  I thought we can be released with no pay.  I mean, geez... I did not request the holiday off, I signed on for my shift and only got a couple hours.  That is not my fault they overstaffed the holiday.  Gimmie a break.  I was saving that time!  Does every CCM do this?

Again, tampering with somebody elses timesheet is - illegal, to say nothing of immoral. nm

I betcha the CCM did that on her own, to try to cover her butt and her poor management skills. I cannot believe MM would want to risk another lawsuit over a CM over-stepping her authority. I would think this would be a job-ending event for this CCM.

Don't stand for it...so illegal, help get rid of bad CCM - for the rest of us...nm

...that you have to use PTO for NJA if you can't make up the time--dumb and unfair to us, but it's the rule. If you have no PTO to use, you can forfeit.

However, she should have had you adjust the time card, not done it herself.

I think they do this to burn through your PTO so that you cannot take time off any other time. They force you to work a holiday, then dont provide you enough work, then force you to use PTO.

This is ridiculous. I think I would contact an attorney on that! If they dont give you enough work, then you just have less hours!

My CCM requires that we make up the time or use PTO. I don't know if she's going strictly by the book, or that's just her rule. I almost don't care anymore, just biding my time, am quitting as soon as I can....

I copied this from the policy section in human resources...
-Paid Time Off (PTO): If the Employee decides to take paid PTO for the remainder of their scheduled shift, the Customer Care Manager will populate the appropriate PTO into TeamWork.

ΓΆ€“ Release from work without pay: If the Employee decides to be released from work without making up the time or taking PTO, the Customer Care Manager will populate the appropriate excused absence in TeamWork.

So it is a choice, not a requirement. Bad CCM. - Bad, bad CCM. nm

If there is no work available, you are supposed to enter a remedy ticket stating whether you want to make up the time, take PTO, or take the time off without pay. Once you enter the ticket, you are released from your schedule. If you choose to take time off, you then request that through teamwork. I've never had a problem having things recorded appropriately when I take the steps as they have been outlined for us. If you don't do it appropriately, your CCM has no way of knowing your intentions. I always take the PTO because I can't afford to go without the money. Maybe your CCM felt that is what you would want. I doubt there is any conspiracy to force you to use PTO.

What I wanted was the holiday off, but I was not approved. So, then what I wanted was work for my shift, but I did not get that. So, then what I wanted was to be able to make that time up during the week, but was unable to. So, now what I want IS MY PTO FOR A DAY WHEN I JUST CANNOT STAND TO SIT AT THIS COMPUTER ONE SECOND LONGER! I want her to NOT TOUCH MY TIMECARD!

The point is, if you take the appropriate steps when there is no work, there shouldn't be a problem with you getting the results you want. If you don't do your part to do things right, then someone is left guessing. Take responsiblity for following procedures, it might work better for you then getting all huffy and yelling like a banshee when you don't.

your CCM and Human Resources and report this. This is not allowed as long as you did not choose PTO in Remedy when reporting no jobs available. This is the protocol you need to follow when there are no jobs. You have 3 options in Remedy when there are no jobs, you can make the time up, be released from work without pay or use PTO. It is YOUR CHOICE, not your CCM's choice, but YOU have to fill out the Rememdy NJA page and drop-down box correctly and choose what you want to do. Good luck!

Is it really legal for Nuance to make us work a holiday, then we don't get paid for it because there are no reports, and then they expect us to work overtime another day to make up for the holiday we worked on that we were never paid for?! It took all this time to purchase a new computer, get windows 8 out and windows 7 in, fix whatever for windows update to work and now I'm told I have to use PTO or MUP this week. Seriously? I was hired full-time by a small company 3 months ago, offered 15.00 hr, just recently demoted because of a complaint of quality (which was very questionable), told they would pay me 5 cpl (woohoo) for production.  Now they are not supplying me with any work, let alone full-time work!  Dont they have an obligation to fire me, lay me off or supply me with work?  How can they do this?  I cant get unemployment if I'm employed, but my employer isnt supplying me with any work ...
