ASR-a is-a stupid-a. So-a I-a have-a to-a waste-a my-a time-a deleting-a every-a "a"-a because-a heaven-a forbid-a that-a MM-a make-a program-a that-a actually-a WORKS-a.

A-yep! Failed an audit this week because the doctor put an "a" in front of every word, and I typed asymptomatic because that is what it sounded like. But, it was actually symptomatic. A-ding!

A-FAIL! A-FAIL! A-FAIL!

And they wonder why we won't pitch in for that "extra help," or why our self-esteem is in the garbage disposal spinning round and round, shredding every ounce of our dignity!

Now, we are told we are in "jeopardy" of losing another account. A-Duh! You were focusing on another account because they were threatening to leave. Of course the other account suffered. A-Duh!

I NEVER blame my supervisor because it's not her fault, she just sends out what she is told to do so that she still has a job. It's not that she agrees with all this madness that corporate has done, she just needs a paycheck too.

All I can say is if it keeps up the way they are running the company, only two things can happen: 1) Go completely under. 2) They get out of transcription altogether(which seems to me that is the plan down the line). Eventually, it will just be called MModal coding.

Okay, rant over. Off to the gym I go, because I refuse to let them kill me!

My first job was 795 seconds with a terrible connection, ASR did not get any of it, had to erase everything and I left a whopping 57 QA markers because they expect us to try to transcribe this stuff instead of just being able to make a QA/QC note just stating it is untranscribable. Took me 1/2 hour and my line count is down to nothing because of it.

My part time job at a local pain clinic has gone full time - just finished my first full week - I was so happy to call my TSH and leave her a voice mail that for reasons beyond my control, I was resigning effective immediately. I thought in training I was told that it started accruing immediately (full time/full benefits), but looking back through my pay stubs, I didn't start accruing it until after I had been with the Q over 5 months. I was wondering what my fellow MTs think is going to happen starting 2014 when Obamacare kicks in. I had read an article in the NY Post a while back that 74% of MDs surveyed plan to work part time, retire from medicine, or go in a new direction careerwise. Do you think we'll see a decrease in work available, even SR editing work? Do you think that if a great amount of MDs cut back or retire from medicine that would cause our profession to lessen in demand? ...

Lately after I have done a few reports, EditScript starts to get slow. I hit a key and there is a delay before it does anything. Not much of a delay, but still delayed enough to slow me down. Eventually, it gets soo slow that uploading the current report and downloading the next one becomes next to impossible and I have to close it out and reboot the program. Anyone else experience this or know the problem and a fix? TIA ...

I know some of you are on lockdown already and for that you have my utmost sympathy and empathy. We are supposed to start tomorrow.
