Anyone working for MedQuist that makes more than pennies? - justwondering

I have worked for MedQuist for almost a year and still am not making money and I'm getting night and weekend incentives. But still to no avail. How are the rest of you doing?

thank you. It says a lot about MQ when they have a "site" of their own on here. Sounds like it's time for me to get out. I also didn't know they were owned by an India company!!! Thanks for directing me the right direction.

Do some careful research. Research the transcriptionists' lawsuit against MQ several years ago. Research the lawsuits brought by everyone from client hospitals to stockholders to the SEC. Find out why they were kicked off the NASDAQ.

I average about 15-17$ per hour, but actually getting enough of my primary accounts to fill my part time shift is difficult.

Wow â�¦ you actually have "primary accounts"? I'm jealous. I haven't had one of those in YEARS.

I usually spend the majority of my day with DOZENS of client profiles open on my desktop and consider it a "good day" if I get any dictator twice in one day. I work on accounts anywhere from the east coast to the west coast so if your account doesn't have work on it, chances are it's because people like me who bounce around all day long are doing it.

I bounce around all over, and I absolutely cannot stand it, however, I still average between 11 and 14 an hour.

At Medquist, the "bouncers" are actually considered part of an "elite" team, according to my CCM. We're the ones who are most proficient at the difficult work that no one else wants to do.

I guess that's why I make the big bucks - my case worker at the Food Stamp office thinks it's hysterical.

Hey, don't underestimate the importance of an EB! We also need to include CUC (Clean Up Crew) which is also super important to keep the pipes at Medquist flowing freely of all those pesky ESLs and other un-doable reports that those with primary accounts can't, or won't, do.

I think with my next Welfare check I'm going to create a fashionable EB/CUC pin to wear on my blouse that will really WOW all my friends at the holiday parties down at the Salvation Army.

It made me very sad. I wish we could make all of the bigwigs at MQ have to go on food stamps. The time I spent working for them was the worst time in my life. It was like being in hell.

Does anyone know of an MT company that employs full-time workers that are employees rather than independent contractors that pays 4 cents/line for SR editing and 8 cents/line for "regular" transcription from the very beginning once they hire you (rather than at Nuance where you have to "earn it" to go from 3.75 cents/line to 4 cents/line? How about 5 cents/line for SR editing and 10 cents/linge for regular transcription? Or is there no such thing? ...

Everytime I do this doctor's transcription (ironically he is a pulmonologist) he snorts phlegm in the back of his nose right into the microphone and will even cough from it sometimes because he does it so hard. Tonight during an 11 min. dictation by him, halfway through I had to get up and run to the bathroom because I was gagging. He did it 5 times in the first 5 min. of the job. shouldn't be held responsible for what MQ says. If MQ doesn't want the responsibility for correct reports, they shouldn't make the deals, instead of making deals and then underpaying MTs and putting all the responsibility on them.
