that is not something physicians do for you, you make the decision and say you were not able to do this, your next of kin can do if you are terminal. Each person has a time to die, we cannot stop this. I know I tried with my mother (by the way, she had refused a lot of treatment herself for her cancer) by telling her world events, telling her her great-grandson coming to see her, just basically trying to bargain. A lot of elderly people decide to stop eating on their own, happens a lot. At her age, why did you not approach her earlier regarding her being a non-christian? Who knows in her heart what she believes? Might be one and you just do not know. Again, this DNR is a decision made by someone other than the people treating her. She might have made a Living Will that you do not know about. Regardless, everyone on this earth has a time and just be glad you got to go to her and be with her. |
