I have a very hyper son who just couldn't seem to control himself when he was young. I had an excellent teacher tell me that first you need to decide if your child is just being herself or if she is deliberately disobeying. At 5 they may not be too capable of self control for very long. If they are friendly and energetic this is difficult. We were punishing my son after school also after being punished at school. We made an agreement with the teacher that she would let us know if he was deliberately disobeying. If he was just being antsy she punished him (usually by missing his recess or part of his lunch time) and that was the end of it. |
