In Reply to: My child got in trouble at school. - time-out

JMO, as another Mom, that her age makes it very difficult to extend the punishment so to speak.  Now, she needs to understand that at school, there are rules, but I still get notes regarding both of my children regarding socialization (they talk too much in school), but they are just really social kids.  Now, I have explained to them that there are rules to follow, and that there is a time and place for socialization, and that they should try their hardest to determine what those times are, but on their level of speaking.  Most classrooms have a method for this type of behavior that they will utilize.  My daughter's is a greenlight, and if they reach red at the top, then that means big trouble to her.  My son is in middle school, so I'm sure it is different, but it does not seem to be a major factor since he gets straight A's.  Sometimes, I wonder if he talks too much because he is not challenged enough, but that is a whole "nother" bag of worms.  Just my personal opinion, I think you have done great by making it an issue, but now it is time for some positivity.  Moving on, so to speak, lets your child know that yes, we make mistakes, but we can do better next week.  I hope this helps, and good luck to you.
