in the USA have become more tolerant since we have all kinds and cultures living in this country nowadays in the 21st Century.  I don't think you have to worry in Atlanta.....really!  I grew up in the 50s-60s in NYC/suburbs and we (my generation, sister, and friends) broke those color barrier lines and forced our families to become more accepting!  We are all one people under the same G_d in my mind no matter the color of our skin, our religions, our cultures, our ancestry!  I wish more people would think like this but I can only lead horses to water, I cannot force them to drink. Hope you enjoy Atlanta!!!  I'm just south of you (FL).
