I would agree with the ODD, but

not the ADHD.  I've talked to his teachers as well as the guidance counselor and also the child psychologist (see below).  None of them believe he has ADHD.  He does very well in school, high honor roll (only 1st grade) and is extremely intelligent.

I'm sure it's a diagnosis that I will be visiting again if things don't change with his behavior.  I would definitely agree with you on the ODD and even bought a book that was recommended by a developmental pediatrician that I've transcribed for.  She recommended it to numerous parents of difficult children, but I don't really find much value in it.  It basically tells you to count it out -- you know those annoying people you hear in the stores telling little Susie or Johnny to come down off that shelf - 1, you'd better come down off that shelf - 2, okay that's it - 3.  Okay, so the kid's still on the shelf, now what?

I don't know about your child, but my son can be very loving and caring when he wants to be.  He shows remorse for the things he's done, but usually not until after he's gotten in trouble for it.  I just keep thinking I can get through to him.  Only time will tell, I guess.
