let's say 5K tops, her attorney will 33% of that. So, now she's down to $3300, and if that includes her medical bills, she will have to reimburse her insurance company, because it is fraud if the settlement designates the money to be allotted for medical bills and she ends up pocketing it.
I don't mean to seem harsh. I really do feel for the child. I just don't see how money is going to make the child feel better. It doesn't sound as if she suffered an extensive bite or will need plastic surgery, as an $800 bill from the hospital wouldn't even cover Tylenol. I doubt she got much more than some antiseptic wash, bandage and maybe a tetanus shot, which she would have gotten anyway if she wasn't up-to-date on it. |
