have only ever tolerated me for the past 9 years, the younger one more than the older one. They would call (and only very infrequently to the house or only to dad at work) and never want to talk to me, only address holiday cards to dad, etc, always treated me with little or no respect. They came to visit 2 or 3 times in the past 9 years, never staying long and generally treated me like I wasn't there. Their dad always paid his support on time and thank goodness the younger one just got married and now the support is finally over and done with. When they called and only wanted money or a co-signer for a car (which dad wouldn't do either of) little did they know that if they would have treated me a little better I could have gotten them anything they wanted from their dad! You catch more files with honey than vinegar, the old saying goes. |
