Just my opinion, but I don't want the government, which can't seem to do anything right anyway and has changed guidelines on just about every recommendation it has ever made in history, to start essentially rationing out my food intake, etc. I don't want the government insisting that I should be drinking 2 cups of coffee a day, one glass of red wine, and 2 pounds of pinto beans a week, all in the name of making me healthy. I don't want forced exercise, giving birth between the ages of 19 and 26, or marrying all in the name of being healthy. Encouraging them to tax the things that they disapprove of is a slippery slope to: A) Furthering the chasm between the haves/have-nots as fewer average people can afford it; B) Encourages the feds to regulate our lives even more than they do already. |
