get to know him better. However, it sounds as though her dad needs more counseling. I am divorced and my ex cannot stand my daughter's boyfriend, accuses her of all sorts of things (none which are true). All it does is make her mad so she sees him without telling her dad. She tells me these things, but she is also 18 so I do not feel that I have to let her dad in on it.
However, her dad needs to realize that he is only making matters worse and eventually his daughter will not want to let him in on any of her life and will begin to resent him. Unless she has done something to make him not trust her, then he needs to straighten up and realize that in 1-1/2 years she can legally do whatever he does not have to be told a thing. Mine is getting to that point. |
