I still have a land line, but I thought I'd tell you why I still have it. :-) I, too, have children at home and that is the very reason I still have a land line. Even if the babysitter has a mobile phone, what if the battery went dead? What if something happened to her and your child didn't know how to operate the babysitter's phone? I think it is very important to have a land line and teach the child(ren) in the home how to use it in case of an emergency. While it does cost a little more each month, to me it is worth the comfort of knowing that if there was an emergency, there would definitely be a working phone in the home. |
