My stepdad is doing the same thing to my mother. They have been married 25 years. She is still in denial. I worry for her because she can retire in 2 years and I worry that she will have nothing to retire on due to him spending such large amounts of money. I have been trying for 2 years to get her to at least consult with a lawyer to find out where she would be financially because he has secret bank accounts and money stashed in different places. I hope your mom has more of a backbone than my mom and not just sit back and take it. Good luck to you and your mom.
