I was very busy throughout High School as well and some how was still able to fit working a job in which was the deal if my mom purchased a car that she could afford to pay cash with. She said that my extra activities would have to take a back burner. I had to pay for the car insurance, but she did put the car in her name and just list me as a driver which made the insurance a little cheaper. Also gas was 100% my problem. If she needed me to run errands I did get 5-10 bucks to put in the tank for this.
My mom's thought were that if I wanted to have a car I had to take on the responsibilities of a car. I was glad she made me take a job. Helped when I went to college and had to balance classes, job, and new social life. Those days were very crazy.
Also the car was sold when I graduated from HS. I had to purchase my own if I thought I needed one in college. Didn't need one until the end of sophomore year. |
