GF- I am sorry you were ganged up on here. Happens frequently. It's easy to judge others as we sit back in our chairs, comparing other families to our own. Can't say I'm not guilty of doing the same. Your question was about the key, not about the situation and all it may entail. Unfortunately most people chose to question the details around your family situation. You owe no one an explanation. My thoughts on the key: You did the right thing. His place of residence will no longer be at your house, but at your daughter's house. Therefore, he should only have a key to her house.
