To try soccer - it's great exercise and even though it is a team sport, individual effort and talent count too. Maybe if he played on a team for a year, he would change his mind. He's only 10 years old - he's going to change his mind about a lot of things.

If he really is an individualist, he will have to find other things, like tennis, where the individual excels, or learn to play chess.

Otherwise, he'll just have to mope around - he'll find something to do - kids are creative if they are allowed to be. Just guide that creativity into something creative.

You sound like a great mom.
