For some reason, my kids are not into the fancy designer, latest trends. My DD only shops at thrift stores for clothes, except underwear. My DS loves to read and buys his books at the secondhand book store or online at half.com. They both refuse to pay full price for anything and will wait for it to go on sale or buy it used somewhere.
In fact, I bought all my daughters clothes this xmas at the Goodwill because SHE loves it there. This included a Liz Claiborne dress, a hand-knit sweater from the Limited, a brand new silk dress with tags still on it, a brand new sweater from Talbots. Each item only cost $4.99!
We live in a town that has the full spectrum from multimillionaires to struggling immigrants so they see it all. They are almost 18 and 15 but have been this way for as long as I can remember. DH and I are both rather frugal, but these kids are cheaper than both of us. |
