I have a 16 year old, am single mom and she is only child, she hopefully has learned some lessons along the way because I have tried to instill values in her - she comes home talking about the 300-400 Ipods the kids at school have and I think to myself - how are they going to survive in the real world if they get things like this as teenagers - they are not going to have a clue how to manage money, these kids are even buying expensive gifts for each other at school, I feel sorry for them when they get out in the real world and have to start paying for everything themselves, unfortunately the real meaning of Christmas has evidently gone the wayside and most kids think it is just a time to get real cool presents. |
