Just from what you've posted, it sounds like he is sorely underprepared to take this job. No sales experience and never been to NYC, but taking a job doing cold-call sales in the toughest city? YIKES.
NYC is great city, full of life and energy, but man you have to be prepared.
LOTS of info can be found online, of course; just start Googling. Everything from maps of the subway system, to where to park, etc. Travel guides at the bookstore can help.
Seriously, what kind of a company gives the new guy the Manhattan territory? And then gives no informational support? The whole story gives me a bad feeling. Hopefully I'm just missing details. |
