I was hurt by someone I tried to help, more than once, so I am just looking out for your feelings. I know you mean well. So did I, I didn't say a word, just kept showing up for support, giving hours and hours of my time (and money) and got hurt badly. I know how you feel, you hurt for them. If she's religious, I always light a candle, but if that's not her persuasion, not a good suggestion. Perhaps just a nice holiday package of goodies will help lift her spirits and yours. Again, so sorry, I know you mean well, it just raised a red flag as I am still wounded. Took the people out to eat and was told the place was "cheap," then a few other things that came back to bite me. I even took a whole day off work which in this business we cannot afford to do. I was told by a counselor when a dog gets hit by a car, the first one they bite is the one who tries to pick them up, that's what got me through my hurt. I will be cautious from now on as once the dust settles, sometimes you are the OP for helping out. My husband says it's because I know too much about their personal lifeand now they are the perfect family once again. I hope this doesn't happen in your case. I am just still hurting, as it's the holidays and I usually hear from this so-called friend but not since things have straightened out for them, now not even a greeting card. |
