I was an IC once. I stopped because I don't like taking out my own taxes. They did not say how many hours I needed to work, it was more about how many reports a day I needed to do and I had to work as many hours as necessary to complete them. Weekend work (one day, anyway) was pretty much mandatory to clear out Friday's backlog but there was a higher line rate. And holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as others, had incentive pay. I have seen some IC positions on the job board..check them out.
