especially pit bulls. A few weeks ago we had two stray dogs show up at our house. One was a large mixed dog, but the other one was a pit bull. They were in our back yard trying to knock over our rabbit cages to get our bunnies!! The pit bull actually bit through the bottom of the rabbit cage and got one of our bunnies on his leg. Our neighbor chased them off and they went into the corn field behind us. But,later on just the pit bull came back...looking for some more of our bunnies. That pit bull saw me standing on the back of our deck and charged across the backyard and up our deck stairs! Luckily I got in the door when I seen him coming. I called our county dog warden and the sheriff and can you believe nobody came out to check on it?!?! The dog warden didnt even call us back and I called at least 8-10 times! I have three small children and three dogs and a cat that all love to play outside. I cannot believe we could not get any help with getting this dog out of our area. The farmer up the road finally shot him one night. I am an animal lover and hated to see it happen, but not sure what other choice our neighbor had. This dog was definitely mean and aggressive and was probably used for fighting, as he had scars on his body. |
