to an at-home profession. It is advertised as a "be home with the kids" job. Society is not to blame for that; however, the awful children you speak of are a product of bad parenting or a child that has issues. Some parents tolerate more than what our parents did when we were young. I was not allowed to talk to my mother or father in a way like you hear these days. One only hopes to instill values and respect in their children. I guess this can be a trickle effect. On the other hand, children are people too. They will get angry and should be allowed to vent that anger, but in a healthy way, not in the middle of a box store! Yes, I remember those days when my children wanted this or wanted that. I am one of those who would leave the cart full of groceries in the middle of the store. Believe me, it has happened! There are those who feel that childcare is not the answer and also feel that working at home with children under feet is not the answer. I think whatever works for you and your situation is what is healthy all around. I sometimes felt trapped with two children to tote all over. I am relieved that they are a little older now and have their friends. I sure do enjoy them though, and they are growing so fast. I know I'll be in a situation where I am looking behind me to see where they are, and they will be long gone living their own lives, at least that is what I hope for them. We are blessed with these children, but given no instruction manual. We learn from trial and error as with a lot of things in life, I guess. You know the old saying if I knew then what I know now..... |
