I still don't agree with abortion. I believe that there is a reason for each pregnancy and if that pregnancy should not be carried out, it will spontaneously abort itself.
My child has a developmental disorder. He is in special ed. If I had known when I was pregnant what kind of special needs my child would have, would I have aborted him given the chance? Never. Yes....my life is more challenging, but I have been blessed with a son who loves me and I love him. I wouldn't be who I am today had I not had my son. It isn't easy. It is sometimes frustrating. Did I choose to have a special needs child....no but I've learned to handle it and learn from it.
After my mom had my brother, she got pregnant for a third time and miscarried. Her doctors told her she shouldn't have any more children and she actually had surgery to keep from getting pregnant. I know accidents happen and I know my parents weren't expecting to have more kids especially since the doctor told my mom she shouldn't....but my mom ended up pregnant with me. They gave her the choice of having an abortion. Obviously my mom had me, but what if she had decided to end my life? I didn't have a choice in the matter but thankfully my mom had me and here I am.
Rape is a horrible thing and a lot of people have dealt with rape. Yes, it is the woman's body, but what about the baby's body. Does that mean nothing? Sometimes life isn't fair. If she didn't want a child that was the product of rape, she could adopt it out. What sense does it make to say....I was raped and I don't want any proof or reminder of that rape and so I'm going to kill the one thing that will remind me......even though we all know that victims of rape don't ever forget they were raped.
There are exceptions......yes....BUT....we have made things too easy. People not using protection or not taking their contraceptives like they should and whoops....I'm pregnant.....ABORTION. |
