Please say a prayer for my dear friend Sharif. He was just diagnosed with an 8.5 x 9.7-cm mass on his left kidney with 5 or 6 enlarged lymph nodes or soft tissue nodules adjacent to the mass.
I took him to the chief surgeon of the urology oncology division at UCLA today, and we found out that he also has a congenital anomaly called a "horseshoe kidney." Both his left and right kidneys are fused together forming a horseshoe shape across the center of his body. This will make the surgery much more complicated, as they will have to carefully separate the kidneys before they can begin removal of the left kidney and large tumor.
Before they can do the surgery, he will need medical clearance and a chest CT to make sure that the cancer has not metastasized into his lungs.
He is a wonderful young man and every prayer will help! I just can't imagine losing him and am praying for a miracle! Thank you in advance for any prayers you are able to send his way! |
